This is a review about an action figure of the anime 'Sengoku Basara' of the character Date Masamune. He is wearing his normal clothes but in a limited-release white version and the action figure makes it possible to put him a lot dynamic battle poses. "Are you ready guys?"

As I already said He is wearing the same clothes as in the anime, the only difference is that they're white. But this is due to the fact that this is a special edition. He also has his six typical "Dragon claw"- swords to accompany him. I'm glad to mention that all the weapons really look like the ones he wields in the anime. About his face I can't be that positive I'm afraid.. His face just doesn't really look like Date's, I don't know why but it's just the overall head that doesn't quite match the way he looks in the anime. Next the proportion of head vs. body doesn't seem 100% right. It' like his head is to small for his body. So overall he does look like the anime just the head is a let-down.

The painting of his clothes is nicely done and there isn't messy painting work visible on any of the items. Next the folds in his clothes are well sculpted and look realistic. The sculpting of his head seems a bit "flat". I think that's because his eyepatch doesn't really stand out much. I do have to say that the fact that he's part made out of ABS does make him look more cheap. Also in the construction of the poses I had quite some problems but i'll discuss them in the next topic.

Because it's an action figure the most important thing is the joints. I have to say that some joints move smoothly and some are really hard to move. Also his extra hands fit really easily in his arm but they tend to easily come out again. Next Date's long sword doesn't fit probably in the hands meant to hold it, I had to put a lot of force onto it to make it fit. And when I tried to pull the sword back out of his hands I actually broke his sword.. These small things make you realize that this figure isn't as fancy as PVC figure and that you can't expect as much quality as you get with those figures. To actually make the figure stand was also a hard task since his foot has a very un-deep hole so it's quite impossible to make him stand stable in the plate (that's why I now used the support beam to make him stand) Nevertheless I have to say that I don't have a lot of experience with action figures and it can be my lack of knowledge that makes it hard for me to construct the figure since I saw other people who were able to built him up just fine.

The figure was in one piece but with multiple replaceable items like hands, head, .. Also the support beam and weapons were separate.

For the photo's I tried to remake the poses that are on the box.
I did my best to make them look as good as possible but my lack of experience
about how to construct action figure may cause some figures to look a bit weird.
