Gurren lagann Ichiban Kuji PVC/ABS figures Viral and Simon

This is a review about two PVC/ABS figures from the anime 'Tengen toppa gurren lagann' The left figure is Viral, how he appeared in the first part of the anime. Viral is a shark-type Beastman with feline genetics. He is very cocky and headstrong and refers to humans as "Naked Apes." On the right side we have Simon also in his looks form the first part of the anime. Simon is the central protagonist of TTGL. He begins the story as a short, unassuming and lonely young boy, but grows up into a tall, commanding and well-loved man. To many more, he is a legendary hero who overcame impossible odds and great personal adversity for the good of mankind.

As already stated, they wear the clothes in which they appear in the first part of the anime. These clothes are executed with a great eye for detail. The TTGL symbol on Simon's jacket for example is almost perfectly the same as in the anime. Viral's expression really suits him and is realistic for him if we look at the anime. With Simon's expression I've more problems since it doesn't really suit him. Because in the first part of the anime he's still a shy and clumsy boy, and he doesn't really make an badass face like that. Even so I think the sculptors and painters did a good job making these figures look like the anime.

These figure's are very well sculpted, there's no seam visible at all! Also the painting is done very accurate. The figures feel really smooth and are just a beauty to look at. I must say these are one of few nendoroid-ish figures that have such an high quality. I feel really lucky that I got them for little money!

This never happened to me: the figures just slid into the ground plate. Slid! I didn't had to use force! And the pins are big enough to prevent them from sliding back out. I never had a figure that fitted so easily in his ground plate.

The figures were in one piece with only the ground plate and their supporting standard sepretaly. But since it was on an exhibition it's possible they build them before displaying them.
