K-ON! PVC/ABS Figure Mio

This is a review about a PVC/ABS figure of the anime character 'Mio' from the anime 'K-ON!'. Mio Akiyama is the mature but scaredy-cat-bassist, and second vocalist of the light music club and Ho-Kago Tea Time. Even though she acts mature, calm, and collected most of the time, she still freaks out from things she's afraid of or things that are gross or pertains to gore. Because of her extreme shyness, she chose bass over the more conspicuous guitar. Here she's shown wearing her school outfit while playing on her bass guitar.

Let's start with the figure's face, I think that all the features of her expression and hair really look like the anime-version. Also her school uniform is are really simular to the anime, even in detail. And her bass guitar is just amazing. It looks incredibly realistic, carrying all the features and controls of a real guitar. Only her pose might be a bit weird since it's so sheerfull and dynamic. It's a bit out of character since Mio is rather shy in the anime and won't easily be that enthusiastic and happy.

Well Alter has a good reputation of delivering high-quality figures and this figure is no difference. This figure has a lot of detail despite being rather simple, and that's what makes the difference. For example the bass guitar even has real nylon wires on it. Also Mio's clothes are very well sculpted and painted. The hair is in one piece so no ugly seams there! Even the groundplate is nicely decorated as a CD with her name written on it. Her hair is pose are really dynamic and are a beauty to stare at.

We had to push a bit to get her foot in the plate but not too much.

The figure was in one piece (inc. guitar) with the ground plate separate.
